The new LACOTS website is a fast, new online way for UK local authorities to keep abreast of all the latest information on consumer protection, trading standards, food safety and best practice.
Specially developed as a joint venture with LACOTS (the Local Authorities Coordinating Body on Food and Trading Standards) the new website was designed, developed and will be hosted by Technical Indexes.
Access to the new site www.lacots.com will be securely controlled and is primarily designed to serve local authorities, although some information will be commercially available. The reference section of the site is to be made available to the public on subscription and includes information on LACOTS publications, advice, reports, guidance, consultation responses, performance management case studies and representations to central government.
The Trading Standards Specialist information section, also available on subscription, is a definitive source for all trading standards officers and local authorities, containing a full-text collection of UK and EU legislation and appeals on key trading standards topics.
